특히 소프트웨어와 하드웨어의 주요 생산과 사용을 담당하는 아시아는 이제 미디어아트의 개발도상국에서 선진국으로 도약하였습니다. 기술이 예술의 상상력을 자극하고 예술의 영감이 기술을 부추깁니다.

전통은 나선형으로 미래를 키우고 미래는 윤회의 현전입니다.

최고의 전통과 문화 예술이 숨쉬고 있는 곳, 서양철학이 다시 돌아오는 곳 - 아시아는 이제 중심입니다.

아시아 미디어아트의 발전적 연합을 위해 조그만 불씨를 마련합니다.

Asia Media Arts Festival은 아시아를 배경으로 활동하는 미디어예술 작가들의 지속적인 교류를 위한 축제의 장으로 조성되었습니다. 2015년 5월 22일 대한민국에서 개최되는 Asia Media Arts Festival은 4개국에서 엄선된 28작품이 출품되며, Symposium을 통한 학술교류의 장에서 ‘현재 아시아 미디어 예술에서 기술과 콘텐츠가 가지는 의미’를 주제로 교감과 소통의 기반을 마련할 것입니다.

이제 시작하지만 최고의 작가들이 모였습니다. 활발한 교류와 협력을 이어가며 매년 아시아의 여러 곳에서 개최 될 것입니다. 그리하여 세계 미디어아트 무대의 최고봉이 될 것이라 믿습니다.

 

We would like to welcome all of you to Asia Media Arts Festival (AMAF) focusing on new media art, its contents, and technology. AMAF can be regarded as an Asia-based exhibition for research and production of new media art including workshops and an academic symposium.

As smart devices become crucial to our daily lives, media art has become a force to reckon within the art world. Asia has been the main manufacturers of software and hardware, and our media art development is reaching new heights. Technology has stimulated artistic imagination, and artists’ inspirations are fueling technological projections. The location of unparalleled tradition, culture and art breathe, the grounds to where Western philosophy returns – Asia is now the center.

This festival has been working on a study that integrates art and media technology to discuss theoretical and practical work in the field of media art .This festival is aimed to present current developments and themes in media art and culture to the public. This festival also targets on sharing diverse issues on media art, its contents, and new media technology by gathering media artists and core researchers from Asia to understand each other's way to build up a strong Asian community. This festival expects to be the hub of great samples of Media Art and technology being exchanging in Asia.

This festival will be held between May 22 - 28, 2015, at CHUNG-ANG UNIVERSITY and Soongsil University, Seoul in Korea. This Festival is open to all media artists as well as researchers from Asia including invited artists and scholars. We call for your works and research projects regarding media arts, its contents, and new media technology to be presented at this festive gathering.
